Maryanne Macdonald, Organize by Design

Juggling a career, family demands and a busy consulting schedule has given Maryanne the know-how to make things happen in less time and with less stress.

She is the founder of Organize by Design, the mother of two and a consultant and instructor on organization and time management.

Maryanne has been teaching classes on organization and time management through The University of Memphis Continuing Education since 1989. Her home has been featured in the Commercial Appeal Home & Garden section, and she has been a contributor for articles on organization in At Home Memphis, Memphis Parent Magazine and Memphis Senior Housing Guide. By relating real life success stories from her experience as a professional organizer, Maryanne will energize and motivate you to become an organization success!

Susan Appleget-Hurst has been known to let her interest in gardening get her in big trouble.

Susan has gardened in the Midwest, the South, and on the West Coast, but has yet to create garden havoc in New England.

A practical gardener from the beginning, growing vegetables and herbs, she has branched out - pun intended - to grow beds of flowers, trees, and shrubs all over her yard.

Currently, she is the senior associate garden editor of Better Homes and Gardens magazine. Before joining the staff of Better Homes and Gardens, she edited the Country Gardens Gardener's Almanac and Garden Shed magazine, and was associate editor of Country Gardens magazine.

Double your Knowledge, Double your Fun.

J. MICHAEL FLANIGAN

You will have the opportunity to bring your treasures to Antiques Roadshow's J. Michael Flanigan for a verbal appraisal on either Friday or Saturday.

This is Michael Flanigan's fourth appearance at our show. He first came in 2005 and has proven to be not only well educated in appraising antiques but a popular and genial personality.

Mr. Flanigan has been in the antique business for 30 years. Focusing on classic American furniture. He spent seven years with J. W. Berry and Son, performing conservation work for almost every museum, historical society and historic home in the wide Baltimore area. Because of his experience he said "it gave me a chance to learn about furniture inside and out”. This also taught him how to authenticate the design and construction of a piece of furniture as to period and locale of manufacture.

Michael spent the next three years as administrator of the Kaufman Americana Foundation, over-seeing the exhibition of the collection at the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C. He wrote the catalogue of the exhibition "American Furniture from the Kaufman Collection." Since the close of the Kaufman Exhibit, he has been a private dealer in Baltimore, exhibiting at antiques shows, writing articles on antiques, and lecturing to groups throughout the country. A member of the American Institute of Conservation, Mr. Flanigan serves on various museum support groups.

Appraisals will be held Friday, February 22 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p. m, and on Saturday morning between 10:00 and 12:00 p.m.
